The AXIS PRO Ultra High Modulus carbon mast – the “dogleg” – is 55% stiffer than the AXIS 19mm alloy mast, thinner and narrower (13.5 mm low down, 12.5 mm less chord than Power Carbon), with a foil section that turns freely at any speed. Affectionately named the “dogleg” by the test team, the PRO is a departure from conventional masts. It boasts a 55% increase in stiffness and incredible torsional rigidity compared with the AXIS 19mm alloy mast (Power Carbon and Power Carbon HM are 25% and 35% stiffer respectively).
It is thinner and narrower too: a 12.5 mm reduction in chord in the bottom half (vs Power Carbon) and 13.5 mm thickness in the bottom section. Its unconventional foil section moves the widest point back, allowing freer turning at any speed – AXIS modelling predicted 20% less drag.
Constructed from military-grade ultra-high modulus materials, it ships in a custom protective mast bag and is compatible with all AXIS products. Available in 720, 800, 900 and 1050 mm.
