The Ozone Reo V7 is the icon, tuned tighter than ever. It’s a pure wave-riding machine — Ozone don’t even test it with a twin-tip, because this isn’t a freeride kite and it’s not made for jumping. What it *is* made for is the surf: super-fast turning, crisp joystick-direct control, huge depower and the kind of insane drift and overhead float that lets you ride the wave, not the kite.
It keeps the low-aspect three-strut platform that makes the Reo so fast and responsive, but the V7 brings a cleaner, tighter aerofoil thanks to transverse sail shaping on the leading edge (an extra seam near the LE for true 3D shaping, borrowed from Ozone’s paragliding designers). The result is markedly better low end, later luffing for cleaner feedback across a wider wind range, and even more of that trademark drift. Thinner bridles than the V6 cut parasitic drag and weight.
The clever bit for real-world riding is **Variable Bridle Geometry (VBG)** — two quick-change bridle settings with no lines to add or remove. The **Offshore** setting gives a balanced, forward-driving feel that sits to the edge of the window and drifts down the line; the **Onshore** setting sits further back with more bar pressure for when a wave’s pushing with the wind. It relaunches in an instant (turn the bar or use the relaunch balls) — exactly what you want when you’re stuck in the impact zone. Good intermediates and up will love it, and freeride foilers get a kite that stays responsive right across the window. This is the meatier, more ruggedly built model (vs the Ultra-X) — better suited to abrasive beaches and heavy use.
