AXIS Fireball Front Wing

The AXIS Fireball front wing is AXIS’s high-lift, low-drag downwind foil: AR 13 outlines in ULTRA high modulus carbon that refuse to stall, pump faster with more forward projection and let you ride smaller. Nine sizes from 880 to the AR 20 Fireball 1750 – for downwind, flatwater pumping, prone and intermediate to advanced wing foiling.

AXIS Fireball Front Wing ✶

The key to the Fireball’s performance is its high-lift/low-drag foil section, with aspect ratio 13 outlines and ULTRA high modulus carbon construction, refined over many iterations by the AXIS team. AXIS describe the Fireballs as their highest performance foils to date, yet very easy to use, with stability across a broader and higher speed range than they have achieved before.

  • ULTRA high modulus carbon – thin, high-aspect foils demand the stiffest construction to extract every ounce of performance from tip to tip.
  • AR 13 – reduced drag lets you pump faster with more forward projection, run with swells, go up and over and chase bumps in front.
  • Lift and carry – the Fireballs refuse to stall where other foils drop out, get you flying earlier, and let you pump out of touchdowns.
  • Ride smaller – advanced riders can drop a little span or around 200 cm² of area. The section is very pitch stable, so you can drop one or two Skinny rear sizes too.

Which Fireball?

  • 1750 – AR 20, purpose-built for record-breaking flatwater feats and extended glides
  • 1500 – AR 17, endless glide for heavy riders and flatwater; the go-to for downwind days that barely seem possible
  • 1070 – conserve energy and shatter time-on-foil records when the wind or swell under-delivers
  • 1000 – the benchmark for intermediate to advanced foilers in average to nuking downwind conditions
  • 940 – weapon of choice for advanced downwind riders in nuking conditions
  • 880 – advanced and lighter riders in fully nuking conditions

Recommended setup

Fuselage: Advance+ Short for long downwind runs, or Ultrashort for shorter runs and a surfier feel. Rear: Skinny 359/40 and 358/35, or 358/30 and 358/25 for advanced riders. For the Fireball 1750 AXIS strongly suggest the Fatty mast and Fatty fuselage; for the 1500, Fatty is strongly recommended for riders over 85 kg.
