Lieuwe Awesome

The Lieuwe Awesome is a freeride kiteboard and an ideal board for beginners – Lieuwe named it the Awesome because that is exactly how your first kitesurfing sessions feel. Designed for upwind performance and early planing, it is the perfect board to learn and progress on.

A flexible wood core and slightly less rocker make it very easy to go upwind and build up speed, and the 3D shape is engineered to stay on track almost automatically. The forgiving flex absorbs chop, the single concave keeps the water flow smooth and predictable, and the board feels stable under your feet even while your technique is still developing.

Once you are riding confidently in both directions and want more pop and progression, Lieuwe’s next step up is the Shotgun.

• Supplied with fins and a handle (45mm fins as standard; 30mm available for a looser, wakestyle feel)

Rider weights are Lieuwe’s recommendations for riders with standard expectations. Board weight tolerance ±5%. Pads/bindings sold separately.

Every Lieuwe board is hand-crafted in Holland, where Lieuwe has been building kiteboards since 2010, and each model goes through at least 18 months of testing in the Netherlands’ choppy home waters and Cape Town’s strong winds. Lieuwe was the first kiteboard brand to be awarded Gold Level certification by Sustainable Surf.
